Shiatsu

What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of therapy based on the principles of Traditional Oriental Medicine. A treatment aims to balance the body’s energy (chi) using the application of pressure, stretching or gentle joint manipulation techniques.

What can Shiatsu Help With?

  • Stress & Tension
  • Headaches & Migraine
  • Insomnia
  • Digestive problems
  • Menstrual problems & PMT
  • Back problems
  • Aches & pains
  • Reduce fatigue
  • Strengthen the Immune System
  • Menopause symptoms
  • General Wellbeing

What to expect

The treatment takes place fully clothed, lying on a mat on the floor, or seated. Gentle stretches, or pressure using fingers, thumbs, elbows or knees is applied to the body.

Clients are advised to:

  • Wear loose comfortable clothes
  • Avoid eating for at least 1 hour before and after treatment
  • Not drink any alcohol before the treatment.

Weekly sessions are recommended for long-term issues or more serious levels of stress that need ongoing management. Ongoing Shiatsu treatments, such as once a month are suggested for maintenance, general relaxation, or if your issues are minor.

I offer reductions for a package of 3 treatments, to be used within 3 months.
