Welcome to Shiatsu Space. My name is Clare.
I have been practicing Complementary Therapies since 1998 and have a passion for helping people, from all walks of life.
I am a Graduate of the British School of Shiatsu-Do, having completed 3 years of training, and hold a Certificate in Barefoot Shiatsu and am a Graduate Member of the Shiatsu Society.
In addition, I am a certified practitioner in the following therapies: Korean Hand Massage, Japanese Facelift Massage, Reflexology, and Thai Foot Massage and hold an LOCN Certificate in Complementary Healthcare for Substance Misusers.
I very much enjoy contributing and supporting others and have worked as a shiatsu practitioner to provide respite at a Drop-in centre for Substance Misusers, as well as Stress Awareness days for Tower Hamlets and Islington Council.
Committed to continuing my professional development I enjoy updating my skills, through a series of workshops which include Muscle Energy Techniques, Cranio-sacral therapy, and Seitai.
I have a background in mathematics and engineering, and also hold a PGCE in Mathematics. I first started studying shiatsu for general interest whilst studying for a PhD at UCL, but quickly found great satisfaction in using it to help others with a variety of health conditions. I have experience in working to help manage conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and Fibromyalgia, as well as clients undergoing chemotherapy.
I enjoy giving back to my local community and volunteer as a mathematics tutor for The Access Project; offering one-to-one tuition for students for whom it would otherwise not be affordable.
